Which species of crab?

Anybody got any ideas on which species this may be? It was cruisng around in about 1/2 a metre of water at Wellers Rock, Dunedin. Carapace was flat on the back and irregular triangle shaped

Great Shot! It looks like the Pill-box Crab to me, Halicarcinus sp. It feeds on algae, seagrass and polychaetes.It will also pick up handfuls of sand and pass them to its mouthparts to sort through.
